The start of a new academic year often sparks a surge of enthusiasm for fashion, and the first day of classes is no exception. At the University of North Carolina (UNC), the Fall Day of Classes (FDOC) stands out as an opportunity for students to showcase their most impressive outfits. Over the past two years, I have observed that FDOC highlights the best fashion offerings at the university.

This year, I sported a pair of pants that garnered numerous compliments, solidifying their place in my wardrobe for future wear. Curious about other students’ fashion choices, I interviewed several about their FDOC attire.

Sophomore Michael Vineyard, known for his maximalist style, shared that his fashion sense remains bold regardless of the weather. Despite his unique approach to dressing, Vineyard noted that his distinctive style often leads to positive interactions on campus, illustrating the impact of personal fashion on social dynamics.
