Marks & Spencer (M&S) is set to debut boutique-style fashion and beauty stores, with the first location opening this autumn at Battersea Power Station.
The new Battersea store will feature a curated selection of M&S’s premium fashion lines for men and women, alongside a refined beauty range. CEO Stuart Machin stated that the trial store aims to “showcase the best of M&S clothing and beauty at outstanding value.” Should the concept prove successful, the company plans to roll out similar stores nationwide, according to The Times.
This initiative follows a notable resurgence in M&S’s fashion performance. The company reported a 58% increase in profit before tax, reaching £672.5 million for the year ending March 30, 2024. Overall sales rose by 19.3% to £13 billion, with a 5.3% boost in turnover within the Clothing & Home division reflecting a successful turnaround in its fashion segment.
