Ella Emhoff, the stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, made a striking appearance on the runway for Coach’s Spring 2025 collection during New York Fashion Week on Monday.
Emhoff, known for her unique style and fashion-forward choices, donned a custom “I Heart NY” t-shirt under a sleek black blazer, paired with a black miniskirt. Her look was completed with a black baseball cap, matte black ballet flats, and a stylish chain-link-strap shoulder bag, perfectly embodying Coach’s contemporary vision.
As she confidently walked the runway, Emhoff continued to solidify her position as a rising star in the fashion world. Her appearance drew attention not only for her styling but also for what she represents in the evolving fashion landscape.
“It’s not really about shape, size, or gender anymore,” said Ivan Bart, President of IMG Models, in a previous interview with The New York Times. “Ella communicates this moment in time. There’s a cheekiness and a joy she exudes.”
Bart first noticed Emhoff’s potential during President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January 2021. At the time, Emhoff, then 21, caught the fashion world’s attention with her bold sartorial choices. She wore a Miu Miu tartan coat featuring a pilgrim collar and bedazzled shoulders, layered over a burgundy dress designed by New York-based designer Batsheva. That moment marked the beginning of Emhoff’s journey from a political family to the forefront of fashion.
Emhoff’s runway moment for Coach at New York Fashion Week continues to highlight her influence in redefining beauty and fashion standards, where personality and individuality shine just as brightly as the garments themselves.
