Celebrity stylist Law Roach recently appeared on WNBA star Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel, for an engaging 45-minute conversation about fashion, confidence, and personal style. Roach, known for styling top celebrities, including actress Zendaya, shared insights on high fashion and style choices. Reese, who is quickly gaining recognition for her own fashion sense, also opened up about her personal journey and experiences.
Fashion and Confidence: Angel Reese’s Journey
During the discussion, Reese shared her struggles with confidence growing up. Standing out as a tall Black woman, she often felt different from her peers. “I was always a tall girl, so nothing fit me,” Reese explained. “It was kind of hard for me to feel confident and comfortable within myself. And I was also a Black woman, so I just felt like I stood out… I was just this exotic girl who was taller than everybody.”
Struggles with Heels: Tips from Law Roach
Another topic of conversation was Reese’s dislike for wearing heels. She revealed that they often hurt her feet, particularly because her years of playing basketball have affected her feet and ankles. “What’s the most comfortable heel for you to wear, or even for Zendaya?” Reese asked Roach, who responded by mentioning Zendaya’s preferred style, the So Kate heel from Christian Louboutin, known for its challenge in comfort.
Roach advised Reese to start wearing heels around the house to help strengthen her ankles. “It’s really not your feet, it’s your ankles—you’ve gotta strengthen them in heels,” Roach said.
Fashion Tips from Roach
As a fashion expert, Roach also shared his styling process with Reese. “If I had a fitting with you, I’d have racks of clothes ready,” he said. “I’d ask you to pick out what you love first, and then what you don’t like. From there, I’d create two rails—one with what you love, and another with things I think you should try. That’s how you cultivate your style.”
Angel Reese’s Rising Fashion Influence
Reese’s fashion influence continues to grow, with recent standout moments such as her appearance at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where she wore Gianvito Rossi sandals and a striking red crochet look. She also made waves at the CFDA Awards with her debut blonde look. Additionally, Reese recently extended her multiyear endorsement deal with Reebok, with a signature shoe set to release in 2026.
