Celine Dion, who recently marked her return to live performances at the 2024 Paris Olympic Opening Ceremony, dazzled the audience in a golden gown. The iconic singer belted out her classic hits, including “The Power of Love” and “I’m Alive.” Despite her ongoing battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome, Dion showed strength and grace, confidently strutting down the runway and encouraging the crowd to get on their feet.
Following Dion’s set, Jennifer Lopez took the stage for her own performance, one of her first since filing for divorce from Ben Affleck in August. Lopez opened with a few lines from Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” which seemed like a pointed nod to her recent separation. After her performance, Lopez was joined by fellow stars Halle Berry and Camila Cabello for heartfelt embraces, as the audience cheered and applauded.
The Elie Saab fashion show, titled “1001 Seasons of Elie Saab,” featured over 300 models showcasing unique designs from the renowned Middle Eastern fashion house. CEO Elie Saab Jr. had promised to blend fashion and entertainment, and with performances from Dion and Lopez, the show certainly lived up to that vision.
