During his introductory press conference on Thursday at North Carolina, new head coach Bill Belichick continued a long-standing tradition, incorporating his signature fashion style.
North Carolina’s athletic director, Bubba Cunningham, joined Belichick at the panel, wearing a sport jacket with the sleeves cut off, a gesture that made Belichick smile. Other members of the university’s board of governors and athletic department also presented Belichick with a gray North Carolina hoodie, which already featured the sleeves removed.
In a touching tribute, Belichick also brought along a sweatshirt his father, Steve, wore during his time at the university in the 1950s.
