Seoul, September 9, 2024 – LG made headlines at the 2025 Seoul Fashion Week with its latest technological innovation: dresses and accessories featuring integrated displays. Building on its previous work with stretchable screens, LG presented its cutting-edge wearable screens on the runway last week.
The showcased items incorporated LG’s advanced stretchable displays, which measure less than 40 micrometers in thickness and can extend from 12 to 14 inches. These screens are capable of displaying images with a resolution of 100 pixels per inch.
For the fashion event, LG’s displays were featured on a range of garments and accessories, including dresses, sleeves, and clutches, designed by fashion designers Youn-Hee Park and Chung-Chung Lee.
Despite the impressive demonstration, these wearable screens are not yet available for purchase. LG first introduced its stretchable display technology nearly two years ago, but it has not yet released any consumer products utilizing this technology, let alone full garments.
While the technology is still in its early stages and will require significant time before it reaches the market, LG’s recent fashion show effectively showcased the potential of integrating screens into wearable designs, offering a compelling glimpse into the future of fashion and technology.
