New York — The 12th Annual First Ladies Luncheon celebrated ethical fashion and environmental advocacy, featuring three sustainable designers who presented their work to diplomats and fashion industry leaders. This year’s theme drew inspiration from Chinese culture and showcased two brands from Shanghai and Hong Kong, accompanied by a vegan menu curated by renowned Chef Guo Wenjun, owner of New York City’s most expensive Chinese restaurant.

Among the highlighted designers was Juliet Gao, founder of Sandriver Cashmere. Gao’s brand revives an ancient Mongolian hand-felting technique and collaborates with women and local herders in remote areas of Tibet. The event also featured Wang Feng Couture, celebrated for its bridal and haute couture creations.

Additionally, Mirela Nurce presented designs that previewed the upcoming Global Runway project, which aims to unite designers from 100 nations in a single runway show set to launch in 2026 at the United Nations. This initiative continues the mission of Fashion 4 Development to merge diplomacy and sustainable fashion solutions.
