Valérie Leberichel, former global communications head at Givenchy, will take on the role of senior vice president of global communications at Gucci starting in late December. The appointment comes as the Italian megabrand, owned by luxury giant Kering, pushes for a major brand overhaul in an attempt to reverse a steep decline in sales.
Leberichel, who has served as Givenchy’s global communications vice president since 2022, brings a decade of experience from roles at Prada and Miu Miu, where she worked closely with Stefano Cantino, now Gucci’s CEO. Her move is part of Gucci’s strategy to strengthen its marketing, communications, and broader operations as the company looks to reinvigorate its market presence.
The brand’s third-quarter revenue dropped by 25 percent compared to the same period last year, highlighting the urgency of these strategic hires and structural changes. Gucci has also appointed Marcello Mastrogiacomo as vice president of digital marketing and media and Daniela Raganato as global media director. The additions to Gucci’s team align with its broader efforts to innovate across design, supply chain, and digital strategy.
