The Garbage Glam Fashion Show is set to take place this Saturday at Main Street Live, beginning at 7 p.m.
This unique fashion event will showcase clothing made from recycled and upcycled materials, designed by local artists. Dubbed “Garbage Glam,” the show aims to promote sustainable fashion while raising funds for a worthy cause.
The event will support the Somebody Cares Project, a local initiative founded by the Martinez family about ten years ago. What started as a simple effort to provide hygiene items and snacks to hitchhikers, truckers, and the homeless population in Trinidad has grown into a mobile grocery store serving several communities in southeastern Colorado. The project also offers essential supplies for pick-up or delivery.
Elaine and Marty Martinez, who run the project from their home, rely on grants and donations to continue their work. They urge the community to contribute, as any support can make a significant impact.
