Sofia Richie Grainge and her sister, Nicole Richie, made a stylish appearance at the Baby2Baby Gala on November 9 in Los Angeles, hosted by Paul Mitchell. The duo posed for photos, each wearing elegant gowns that showcased their distinct styles.
Sofia, 26, wore a sleek black dress by Alessandra Rich. The gown featured creamy-white straps and a bow detail, paired with a black purse and black sling-back heels. She styled her hair in an up-do and wore nude-toned makeup. Her accessories included chunky white hoop earrings and several smaller hoops.
Nicole, 43, opted for a different look, choosing a full-length purple Lanvin gown with textured detailing, long sleeves, and a turtle neck. She wore her hair loose and complemented the gown with purple-pink eyeshadow and a nude lip. Gold drop earrings and multiple rings added a chic finishing touch.
Both sisters, known for their distinctive styles on and off the red carpet, have stayed in the public eye with Sofia recently becoming a mother. She welcomed daughter Eloise with her husband, Elliot Grainge, 31, in May. Sofia and Elliot made their first night out since becoming parents in October, attending the Academy Museum Gala, where Sofia wore an orange-red Fendi gown, styled with Tiffany & Co. jewelry and a black handbag.
Nicole, a fashion icon since the early 2000s, reunited with Paris Hilton at the CFDA Fashion Awards in October, where she wore a long, backless black leather dress with a boat neckline. Hilton, meanwhile, chose an Oscar de la Renta minidress featuring vibrant red flowers, adding to the glamorous look.
Tyla Pays Tribute to Aaliyah at MTV EMAs
South African singer Tyla channeled Aaliyah’s iconic 2000 MTV VMAs look at the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) on November 10. She wore a blue version of the Roberto Cavalli zebra-print dress that Aaliyah famously donned 24 years ago.
Tyla’s look included a silver choker and knee-high strappy black heels, echoing the bold style Aaliyah embodied with a yellow version of the dress, paired with red lip gloss and white nails.
The zebra-striped dress, which features a slit up one leg, fur-like fringe, and a short train, has seen several revivals over the years. Tyla’s look drew instant reactions on social media, with fans noting the nostalgic Y2K inspiration.
Tyla, who performed her hits “Water” and “Push 2 Start” at the event, won three EMAs, including Best R&B, Best Afrobeats, and Best African Act. The 30th MTV EMAs were held at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena, celebrating international music talent.
Aaliyah’s influence on fashion and music continues to be celebrated more than two decades after her original appearance in the Cavalli dress. Roberto Cavalli, who passed away in April 2024, was known for his signature animal prints, beloved by celebrities worldwide.
