French fashion house Lanvin is making a highly anticipated return to the Paris runway after a two-year break. The brand will showcase its new artistic director, Peter Copping, and his debut collection during Paris Menswear Week in late January 2025.

Peter Copping, who previously worked at Oscar de la Renta, was appointed as Lanvin’s artistic director in June 2024. His arrival followed a long search for a creative leader. Known as the oldest continuously operating couture house in the world, Lanvin has faced challenges in the modern fashion market, especially after being acquired by a Chinese parent company. Copping’s extensive experience at prestigious labels like Balenciaga and Nina Ricci gives hope that he can help revitalize the brand.

The upcoming show will be an “intimate runway presentation” featuring both women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections for autumn/winter 2025. This strategic timing allows Lanvin to present its new vision without competing against other major labels, such as Valentino, which has reduced its schedule under new leadership.

Copping aims to bring a fresh perspective to Lanvin while honoring its heritage. His collection is expected to embody the concept of “le Chic Ultime,” originally championed by founder Jeanne Lanvin. As excitement builds for this event, many are eager to see how Copping will blend tradition with contemporary fashion.
