CHICAGO (CBS) — A local man has turned his faith into a successful clothing brand, believing that God makes all things possible.

Queshaun Canty, the founder and CEO of Gréyce and Merci, says his brand is a reflection of God’s grace and mercy in his own life.

“My passions are family, church, and fashion,” Canty shared. “Gréyce and Merci is a brand I created after experiencing God’s grace and mercy firsthand.”

The clothing line has recently gained significant attention, particularly from celebrities.

“Chris Brown has worn it four times already,” Canty said, adding that the singer wore a Gréyce and Merci T-shirt during his concert at the United Center in June. “It’s amazing to me that he chose my brand. His stylist says he picks what he wants to wear.”

Canty, who is often called “Que,” credits his success to his unwavering faith.

“This all started because I trusted in God,” he explained. “I believe he can do anything because I’ve seen him work in my life.”

As a child, Canty struggled with seizures, but they stopped after he was prayed for at church. This experience inspired the name of his brand, Gréyce and Merci, which combines the words “grace” and “mercy” in a luxurious way.

“Grace and mercy are why I’m here,” Canty said. “They keep me going and allow me to be a living example that others can overcome too.”

However, building his brand hasn’t been easy. Canty runs the business from his family’s home in Belvidere, working late nights to design, create, and ship his clothing.

“I’m up until 4 a.m. some nights, pressing shirts, brainstorming, talking to manufacturers and artists—it’s a 24/7 job,” he said.

But he’s not alone in this venture. His family is deeply involved in the business, with his mother, brother, and cousin all supporting him.

“It’s a privilege as a mom to watch his dreams come true,” said Mahlonne Canty, Que’s mother. “His faith is so strong. It inspires me to strengthen my own faith.”

Canty’s passion for fashion began at an early age, with a love for church clothes and shoes.

“I was always the kid who asked for church clothes on my Christmas list,” he recalled. “I always felt like God had his hand on me.”

Canty’s younger brothers often borrowed his clothes, impressed by his sense of style.

“We were always stealing Que’s clothes because he always had the best,” said Quincy, Canty’s brother. “His vision is unlike anyone else’s.”

For Canty, his fashion brand is more than just clothing—it’s about empowerment.

“When you wear one of these shirts, I want you to feel like Superman,” he said. “I want you to feel like God did it for me, and he can do it for you.”

In addition to Chris Brown, several other notable figures, including LeBron James’ wife, Savannah, Pastor John Hannah, and gospel singer Jekalyn Carr, have worn Gréyce and Merci.

Canty’s success is a testament to his faith and dedication to his craft.
