Harry Styles is moving forward with his career following the tragic loss of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.
On December 4, Styles shared exciting news with his 48.3 million Instagram followers, announcing a new collaboration between his beauty and lifestyle brand, Pleasing, and British fashion designer JW Anderson. The announcement, made in a joint post between Pleasing and JW Anderson, featured a collection that includes nail polishes, sweaters, and a handbag. Styles, 30, later shared the post on his Instagram Stories, using heart and balloon emojis to celebrate the release.
This news comes after the passing of Payne, who died on October 16, 2024, following a fall from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. Styles, along with his former bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, and Niall Horan, attended Payne’s funeral on November 20, which was held at a 12th-century church in the English countryside.
Also in attendance were Payne’s ex-partner Cheryl, with whom he shared a 7-year-old son, Bear, as well as his friend James Corden. Simon Cowell, who helped launch One Direction’s career on *The X Factor* in 2010, also attended with his fiancée Lauren Silverman.
In a touching tribute shared the day after Payne’s death, Styles expressed his heartbreak on Instagram. “I am truly devastated by Liam’s passing,” he wrote, posting a photo of Payne performing to a large crowd. “His greatest joy was making other people happy, and it was an honor to be alongside him as he did it.”
Styles described Payne as someone with “an infectious energy for life” and praised his warmth, support, and love. “Liam lived wide open, with his heart on his sleeve. The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished years of my life. I will miss him always, my lovely friend.”
He ended the tribute with heartfelt condolences to Payne’s family, saying, “My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and all those around the world who knew and loved him as I did.”
