Celebrate the Season: Holiday Festivities at Stony Point Fashion Park in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Stony Point Fashion Park is celebrating the holiday season with a series of festive events throughout December. Whether you’re looking to meet the Grinch, enjoy ice skating, or participate in community wellness activities, there’s something for everyone.

The holiday festivities kick off on Wednesday, December 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. with a special Grinch-themed event. Attendees can meet the Grinch, take photos, and enjoy Grinch-inspired activities, including crafts hosted by Chesterfield Public Library, face painting, and live performances of The Grinch soundtrack by the Doorway Singers. Food options include green mini cheesecakes, hot chocolate from Verseau Bistro, and specialty green drinks from Latitude Seafood, P.F. Chang’s, and Eggspectation.

Santa Photos and Ice Skating

For those looking to get into the holiday spirit, Stony Point offers two opportunities for photos with Santa on December 14 and 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. Guests can take home a 4×6 photo and an 8oz candle from C&G Luxury Candles for $20. Santa will be located next to the ice skating rink in Space 145. Reservations for Santa photos are available online.

Stony Point’s ice skating rink, which opened on November 16, is also a major attraction, remaining open through January 5, 2025. General admission, group packages, and discounts on special event days are available. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Stony Point website.

Health and Wellness Events

On Monday, December 16, from 8:30 to 10 a.m., join Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Massey Cancer Center for “The RAMble: Walking for Wellness” event. The session includes a brief health talk followed by a group walk near the dog park. This event, which is free and open to all fitness levels, will take place every third Saturday of the month, weather permitting.

Holiday Performances and Community Events

On December 17, from 5 to 7 p.m., enjoy festive holiday music at the Bach to Rock! performance. After the show, guests can save $1 on ice skating tickets. On December 19, from 6 to 7 p.m., experience Irish dancing by The Heart of Ireland School, with a similar discount available for ice skating tickets after the performance.

American Red Cross Blood Drive and Noon-Year’s Eve

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on December 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stony Point Fashion Park, located near J.Jill. Donors will receive a free Red Cross t-shirt.

On December 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., bring the family to celebrate “Noon Year’s Eve.” This kid-friendly event will feature goodie bags, face painting, music, balloon art, and crafts. The event will take place in Triangle Park, with a countdown to noon marking the start of the New Year.

Small Business Social

Stony Point will also host a Small Business Social on Thursday, January 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. The free event will include a presentation by Chamber RVA and an opportunity to explore leasing options at Stony Point. It will be held in Space 164, near Dillard’s.
