Hunter Schafer, star of *Euphoria*, is set to make a bold entrance as a guest judge on the upcoming 17th season of *RuPaul’s Drag Race*. Known for its extravagant fashion, the show is no place for subtlety, and Schafer certainly won’t disappoint. For her debut, she will wear an iconic Jean Paul Gaultier couture corset from the designer’s Spring 2009 collection—a statement piece that promises to be one of the most unforgettable looks in the show’s history.
Although only a glimpse of the corset was shown in the season’s teaser, its intricate design immediately revealed its creator and the collection from which it came. The corset is a standout from Gaultier’s 2009 haute couture runway. Schafer, with stylist Dara Allen, clearly wanted to make a powerful impression, opting for this archival gem to highlight her appearance.
Schafer embraced the space-age, Barbarella-inspired vibe of the outfit, pairing it with voluminous waves, oversized silver earrings, and a tiny newsboy cap to complement the lingerie-inspired look. She also appeared to wear a feathered accessory, possibly a boa or shawl, around her arms, adding another layer of dramatic flair.
Viewers will have to wait until early 2025 for a full look at Schafer’s outfit when the episode airs. In addition to Schafer, guest judges for the new season include Doechii, Sandra Bernhard, Betsey Johnson, Quinta Brunson, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Katy Perry. However, none of these stars are likely to rival Schafer’s archival couture moment on the runway.
