At the end of last year, LOEWE announced its withdrawal from this year’s Paris Fashion Week, leaving the fashion world eager yet uncertain about what the brand’s new season show would bring. In a departure from the traditional runway, the brand embraced a gender-inclusive format for this presentation. Creative Director Jonathan Anderson selected the historical residence of Karl Lagerfeld on University Street in Paris as the venue. Although Anderson himself did not attend the event, his distinctive design approach remained evident throughout. Additionally, the exhibition featured a collaboration with the Albers Foundation, transforming the geometric works of Josef and Ani Albers into woven coats, skirts, and handbags. Elements of the iconic Puzzle Bag were also deconstructed and displayed, rekindling memories of Anderson’s previous masterpieces.
The collection is defined by sharp, slim silhouettes, combining loose suits with over-the-knee boots to create a laid-back, casual aesthetic. These boots were showcased alongside capes made from baseball T-shirts and paired with leather windbreakers. For the men’s section, models were seated casually, dressed in mohair hoodies and loose trousers, complemented by a range of relaxed, casual footwear. LOEWE is set to continue its journey with the upcoming “Crafted World” exhibition in Tokyo, which will run from March 29 to May 11.
