Chanel has tapped pop singer Angèle for the launch of its latest Chance fragrance, Chance Eau Splendide. This is no coincidence, as the 29-year-old Belgian artist has been the Parisian luxury brand’s beauty and fashion ambassador since 2020.
Angèle has appeared in Chanel campaigns several times before and often wears Chanel clothing and makeup, such as during the Nonante Cinq tour in 2022.
“Angèle has had a fascinating career. A pop star and a heavyweight in the French music world, she has seized every opportunity in her career and transformed the challenges she has faced into brilliant artistic achievements,” Chanel said in a press release.
The upcoming campaign, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, is set in a playground and features Angèle singing “A Little More”, a song she wrote especially for the Chance collection launch.
Chance was first launched by Chanel in 2003. It was created by Jacques Polge, the house’s perfumer from 1978 to 2014. Three more versions followed: Chance Eau Fraîche, Chance Eau Tendre and Chance Eau Vive. Today, Chance Eau Splendide is a fruity-floral fragrance created by Olivier Polge, Chanel’s perfumer and Jacques’ son.
