Louis Vuitton has unveiled its Resort 2025 campaign starring Zendaya, showing the actress towering over an idyllic Italian coast. Shot by renowned photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the campaign will be released in select print publications on Sunday and on Louis Vuitton’s digital channels starting May 16.
Zendaya is seen in the Italian Riviera’s stunning scenery, against the backdrop of beach umbrellas and lounge chairs, creating a surreal, oversized presence. Louis Vuitton said she appears in “cinematic scenes,” but did not reveal how she fits into these surreal landscapes. In one striking shot, she wears a short black embroidered dress with leather thong sandals, her toes almost touching the water, and a leather and wicker Capucines bag by her side.
Art direction was by Lina Kutsovskaya of BeGood Studios, while Zendaya was styled by Law Roach. Hair and makeup were by Ursula Stephen and Ernesto Casillas, respectively. Louis Vuitton said the visuals capture “the desire to travel that makes the Resort collection so true to the spirit of Louis Vuitton.”
Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of the brand’s womenswear collections, originally unveiled the Resort 2025 collection last May at Barcelona’s Park Güell, the famous garden complex designed by Antoni Gaudí.
Zendaya, who has gained global acclaim through projects such as Euphoria, Dune and Challengers, becomes a Louis Vuitton brand ambassador in 2023. She initially represented the brand through its Capucines handbag campaign and later worked on its re-collaboration with artist Takashi Murakami, relaunching the multi-colored monogram that was first introduced in 2003.
